The reason for the HQ MPEG clips is because I would like to get screencaptures from them. Lesser quality just end up with broken pixels and blurred caps. Nothing too earth-shattering, just some things I've been meaning to get added. The articles are more Stephen Nichols (Steve) related and how Steve's storyline relates to Ava's.

TAMARA OBSCURA || "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" — 05/08/2008 Screencaps & Joe Penny Caps
Another heavy day. I had more errands to run in lieu of Mother's Day for my mom, so I wasn't able to get the screencaps up for the day till now. A wonderful day for Tamara to shine. I adored her scenes with Joe Penny today. Very good acting all the way around as Ava confronted Martino about his keeping her drugged up. I was also very pleased with the scenes Tamara had with James Reynolds (Abe Carver). Although my preference is for Steve and Ava to get it on or at least together, I must say if the whole marriage thing with Lexie (Renee Jones) doesn't work out for our resident police chief, I'd be very open to an Ava and Abe pairing. Now for someone to come up with an appropriate acronym for that one! Also there's a new article in the 2008 Press section. It's a bit of a preview of scenes that have already aird and Tamara gives us some insight into Ava's motivations. I must warn you though, what Tamara says about Ava and her correlation to a breakfast ceral is hilarious.

So sorry for how late these are at getting to the page, but I had a lot of errands to run for my mom yesterday and didn't get home till late. I worked as hard as I could to get these capped and resized to get them up for you. Once again, Tamara was doing some fine work today. The aftermath of Ava's addiction and subsequent arrest is playing out nicely. I'm in awe of how Tamara is handling the various movements through Ava's psyche in understanding what she's done and taking the proper remorse and regret as Bo confronted her at the Salem PD. As before, there will be no thumbnailed images for the Joe Penny caps. To see those, click on the 'goto' imaged to the left of the entry.

Tamara is doing a mighty fine job at portraying someone going through the rigors of long-term drug dependence withdrawals. I'm always amazed how she uses her knowledge of psychiatry to handle these very difficult scenes. I'm sure at the end of the day she's exhausted. Like some of the high-powered scenes she gave us as the ONLY Carly, particularly during the Panic Room storyline, Tamara is giving us her Emmy Reel scenes for next year. Certainly all involved in Ava's story including Stephen Nichols (Steve), Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), Kristian Alfonso (Hope), Peter Reckell (Bo) and new addition Joe Penny (Martino Vitali) should be recognized. Joe's barely been on a week and I'm thoroughly enjoying his take on a truly bad guy mobster. And it's because of this, I was asked if I'd do screencaps of Joe. So I took the liberty of creating a gallery only of Joe's work on DAYS. You can find it here: PENNYWISE: JOE PENNY AS MARTINO VITALI. I'll post recently uploaded caps here on this page. Daddy Vitali is in da house. It seems he's not too happy to see his little girl in the hospital with 'Patch' in the room with her. I'm already loving Joe Penny in the role. He's got a certain bit of menace that doesn't resort to the kind of camp the other Joe on DAYS (Joe Mascolo) has become as Stefano DiMera. It also seems as of DAYS is turning a corner. The torture and murder of Earl (Ricky Dean Logan) was pretty much in the tone of a cinema verite style. They've brought Mr. Penny and by extension Tamara's new Daddy on in style. Thank you Days of our Lives for bringing on more family for Tamara. It seems you have a good vested interest in both her and her character enough to have brought on her Daddy. I'm also thinking Mr. Vitali might have a thing to two to show a certain other mobster on another soap on as they say, a competing network. Come on Joe, show 'em how it's done.

Well, Ava's got herself in a pickle today and Steve seems to be caring a liiiiittle more than he perhaps should be. I'd say Sweetness had better keep an eye on him. He seems drawn to Ava's beside and blames himself for what's happened to her. My Spidey Senses are telling me Steve hasn't quite gotten over her yet. I'm done now, here's what you came for:

SUCCESS!!!. I was able to record the 7:00 PM version of Days of our Lives, and the screencaps turned out better than I'd believed they would. I'm a very happy camper tonight. It looks like Ava is finally being made to take responsibility for what she started two and a half months ago when she spied Steve through that pub window in Ireland. Little did we know then what Ava would wrought on certain Salemites, particularly poor Hope and Steve. Today Abe and Roman read Ava her Miranda warnings and took her to the Salem PD in handcuffs.

But I wanted to give a special shout out to the wonderful behind-the-scenes guys and gals who have been making Tamara look absolutely stunning these past weeks. I'm talking about the wardrobe department, make up and hairstylists. Since I don't know who works on Tamara, I'll mention all of them.
